Alejandro Sánchez is a Senior Director in FTI Consulting’s Cybersecurity practice based in Brussels. Mr. Sánchez brings over 14 years of public sector experience within the Spanish Administration and European Institutions.  Most recently, Mr. Sánchez was head of cabinet of the Spanish Secretary of State for Security and was concurrently head of the Spanish delegation to the EU Standing Committee on Operational Cooperation on Internal Security (COSI), which coordinates the activities of the police forces, external border protection authorities, civil protection agencies and judiciary bodies of the 28 EU countries.

Mr. Sánchez has a deep knowledge of the political, regulatory and operational dimensions of security and cyber security. This is combined with his extensive networks within governments, intelligence agencies and industry. Most recently he has focused on critical infrastructures protection, such as oil refineries, electrical substations, et cetera.  A Spanish national, Alejandro completed his degree in Political Sciences at the University of Granada. He also has three Master Degrees in European Studies from the College of Europe (Bruges), International Relations and Global Security from the University Catholique de Louvain and Leadership in the Public Sector from IESE Business School.  Mr. Sánchez is member of the American Chamber of Commerce EU Security and Defence Committee.
